Butterfly Pea Flower

Clitoria ternatea is a perennial herbaceous plant native to Southeast Asia and some parts of the United States. It is a member of the Fabaceae family and closely resembles sweet peas and varietals grown for agricultural purposes. What sets this species apart is the high concentration of anthocyanins in its petals, these are water pigments found in plants.
