Ancient Fire, Session II: The Burn - Menopause & Peak Heat
Part two of a three-part series on Menopause.
Hot flashes. Night sweats. Mood swings. Weight shifts.
And somehow… no one really explains why it’s happening.
Menopause is often talked about in fragments. A symptom here, a complaint there, but rarely as a whole, integrated process.
In this session, we take a deeper look at what is happening in the body during menopause, why it can feel so intense, and ways to navigate it with understanding, support, and confidence.
We will explore:
• The physiology of menopause and what changes when ovulation stops
• Vasomotor symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats, explained clearly
• How inflammation, cortisol, and blood sugar influence symptoms
• Why metabolism and weight can shift during this stage
• The difference between cooling and grounding herbal approaches
• How to support the body using herbs, nutrition, and simple daily practices
We’ll also explore how this stage of life has been understood through traditional and historical perspectives, alongside modern physiology.
This class is designed to give you a clear, grounded understanding of your body so you can respond with intention instead of frustration, fear, or dread.
Each session includes:
• Educational lecture
• Herbal guidance
• Extensive Q&A with conversation
• Printed class notes to take home
This is a space for honest, respectful conversation about a stage of life that deserves better understanding and better support.
At the end of each class, we will briefly discuss:
-
How to choose herbs for your specific body and symptoms
-
Teas vs tinctures vs topicals and when each makes sense
-
Simple routines that are realistic and sustainable
-
When to seek medical care alongside herbal support
-
A guided tasting of a class-relevant tea blend
Spring water, class-relevant herbal tea, and nourishing buffet style food table will be provided.
