Flavor Profile
Chemo Care has a delicate, layered flavor that balances floral, citrus, tart, and gently warming notes.
Calendula, linden, butterfly pea flower, and rose petals create a soft botanical foundation, while hibiscus contributes a pleasantly tart character and beautiful color.
Orange peel provides a fresh citrus brightness, and ginger root adds just enough warmth and spice to round out the cup without overwhelming the more delicate botanicals.
The result is a soothing, aromatic herbal infusion that can be enjoyed on its own or lightly sweetened with honey.
Ingredients
Calendula Petals (Calendula officinalis)
Bright and beautiful calendula has a long history of use in traditional Western herbalism. The colorful petals are commonly incorporated into teas and botanical preparations and contribute a mild, pleasant herbal character to the blend.
Linden Leaf & Flower (Tilia spp.)
Linden has been enjoyed as an herbal tea for generations, particularly throughout Europe. Its leaves and fragrant flowers produce a gentle infusion traditionally associated with relaxation, comfort, and general wellness.
Butterfly Pea Flower (Clitoria ternatea)
Known for its striking natural color, butterfly pea flower has a long history of culinary and traditional herbal use throughout Southeast Asia. It contains naturally occurring plant pigments called anthocyanins and adds visual beauty to herbal infusions.
Hibiscus Flower (Hibiscus sabdariffa)
Hibiscus produces a vibrant, ruby-colored infusion with a naturally tart and refreshing flavor. It is enjoyed throughout the world as both a traditional beverage and botanical ingredient and contains naturally occurring antioxidant plant compounds.
Plantain Leaf (Plantago spp.)
Not to be confused with the banana-like fruit, plantain leaf is a traditional herb that grows throughout much of the world. Herbalists have valued it for generations, and its mild, green flavor blends beautifully with floral botanicals.
Rose Petals (Rosa spp.)
Rose petals have been treasured for centuries in culinary and herbal traditions. Their delicate floral aroma adds a soft, elegant quality to the blend and pairs especially well with hibiscus and citrus.
Orange Peel (Citrus sinensis)
Orange peel brings a bright, naturally citrusy aroma and flavor that helps balance the earthy and floral herbs in the blend.
Ginger Root (Zingiber officinale)
One of the world's most familiar traditional herbs, ginger has been enjoyed in culinary and herbal preparations for centuries. Its distinct warming character adds gentle spice and depth to this otherwise delicate blend.
We strongly encourage you to do your own research into each of the herbs in our tea blends to learn more about their history and traditional uses. If you are undergoing medical treatment, please discuss individual herbs with your healthcare team before use.
Suggested Use
Add approximately 1 tablespoon of loose-leaf tea per 8 oz of water.
Pour just-boiled water, approximately 205°F, over the herbs, cover, and allow to steep for 5–10 minutes.
Strain and enjoy.
The tea may be enjoyed as-is or lightly sweetened with honey if desired.
Iced Tea Instructions
Chemo Care can also be prepared as a refreshing iced herbal tea.
For a stronger infusion that will be poured over ice, use approximately 1½–2 tablespoons per 8 oz of water. Steep covered for 5–10 minutes, strain, and allow to cool before pouring over ice.
For larger batches, adjust the amount of loose-leaf tea proportionally, then steep, strain, chill, and refrigerate until ready to enjoy.
A slice of fresh orange or lemon can add an additional bright citrus note.
Brewing Note
Because Chemo Care contains a variety of flowers, leaves, fruit peel, and root, every scoop may look a little different. Gently shake or stir the bag before measuring to help redistribute the ingredients.
For a lighter cup, use slightly less tea or shorten the steeping time. For a fuller botanical flavor, use a little more tea or allow the infusion to steep longer.
Covering your cup while the tea steeps can also help preserve the aromatic qualities of the botanicals.
Loose leaf only, packaged in a resealable kraft bag.
Herbalist Notes
There are seasons when something as simple as preparing a warm cup of tea can become an important act of self-care.
Chemo Care was created around gentle, traditional botanicals selected to produce a comforting and enjoyable herbal infusion. Rather than viewing tea as a replacement for medical care, we encourage you to think of it as a ritual—a moment to sit down, hydrate, rest, and give yourself a little space during a demanding time.
For individuals undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, surgery, or other medical treatments, herbal products should always be discussed with the treating healthcare team. Individual medications and treatment plans vary, and even natural products can interact with medicines or may not be appropriate during certain treatments.
Why Choose Our Blend?
