Jasmine Flower (Whole)

History & Information

Jasmine flowers, or Jasminum officinale, have been cherished across cultures for centuries for their intoxicating fragrance, beauty, and powerful spiritual associations. Known as a symbol of love, purity, and prosperity, Jasminum officinale is often used in love magick, wealth spells, meditation, and prophetic dream work. Its aroma promotes relaxation, emotional healing, and restful sleep.

Native to tropical regions of the Old World and long cultivated across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, jasmine’s exact origin is uncertain, though it likely traces back to Central Asia. Historical records show it was valued in ancient China and Persia, later becoming a prized garden plant in Europe for its long blooming season and heady scent.

Medicinally, Jasminum officinale is celebrated for its calming and antioxidant properties, supporting stress relief, better sleep, and overall well-being. It’s also used in skincare for its soothing and moisturizing effects.

Culinarily, jasmine is best known for flavoring teas, rice dishes, and desserts. Jasmine tea, green tea infused with jasmine blossoms, offers a delicate, sweet aroma and beneficial plant compounds. Dried flowers are also used in potpourri, perfumes, and essential oils.

Chemically, Jasminum officinale contains a range of beneficial compounds including alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, glycosides, terpenoids, and essential oils, which contribute to its fragrance, therapeutic qualities, and antioxidant effects.
